Learn to dance with the Carolina Shag Club!

The Shag is a smooth, graceful six-count partner dance set to the soulful rhythms of classic beach music, blending 1950s-1970s R&B, soul, and rock 'n' roll. It originated in the late 1930's from swing and jitterbug and got it's start from teens and young adults at beach clubs around North Myrtle Beach. In 1984, it became South Carolina's official state dance and North Carolina's in 2005. Today, there are thousands of people who Shag, with around 100 clubs throughout the southeast!

WEDNESDAY NIGHTS:

Classes are $10
- 6pm Beginner Lessons
- 6:45 Intermediate
- Free Social dance 7:15-10 PM

4TH FRIDAYS:

Classes are $5
- 6:30 Jr. Beginner/Jr. Intermediate Shag
- 7:15 Line Dancing Lessons
- Free Social dance 8-10 PM
